Ashtanga Yoga Workshop with Arne Espejel
Saturday November 11:
3:30pm – 6:00pm: Diving into the Asanas (Yoga Postures)
In the modern days, Asanas are what Yoga is mostly recognised for. The thrive of achieving connections and results of asana practices, have led many people to consider a full change in their daily routine, such as going to bed early, changing their eating habits, to considering to discern better in general. Thus, to mainly integrate this new routine into their daily lives, have resulted into developing a new discipline within.
Yoga is much more than Asana practice. Yet, it is one of many “doors” that we can choose to enter every day to start calming the Mind. Exploring the nature of the Mind through our physical capabilities, by stretching and strengthening the body while in focus, and fully aware of a specific breathing technique.
In this workshop we are going to study the activation of the fundamental asanas that support all of the six series of the Ashtanga Yoga system taught in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.
Beginners will be learning on how to start the practice of asanas.
Existing practitioners will learn how to read and understand asanas in general, in order to activate them in a more optimistic way to free the breath and stay connected with its sound as much as possible, regardless of the asana.
We will also go through some internal effects of the physical practice.
